Mercy Unplugged

Zoooo....

She's quite the trip.

I think I might have finally worn her out yesterday.  It only took about 5 miles of running and a round trip to Connecticut and back.  Thankfully, at 8 o'clock last night she put herself in her crate and shut the door.  I followed shortly behind.

She runs. She only runs.
And everywhere.  Occasionally she flings herself into the river and, still running, she flings herself back out again.  Tongue flapping, tail wagging, paws touching down every thirty feet or so--here we come, and bzzzzt, there we gooooooo!

I must confess that I adore it.  I'm sure the dog police are watching us carefully and shaking their heads at our rowdiness, but heck!  Someone's got to break the rules, after all....

A month ago I would have pegged her as Miss Congeniality.  While she's indeed enormously friendly, I now see at six months that she is more the Thelma and Louise type.

Note to self: perhaps that should read 'we'?
...oooom!

Trunk Show

On Easter morning

I walked through my father's woods

with Mercy

and we found
the trunks of the trees

were secretly skipping to
the music.

Nudges

Good morning, Good April!

Ok, yes, I know, I went off the Verge.
I needed a nudge or two or three...but I'm back.
Sometimes it's good to be quiet and listen--and do nothing.  Nothing is a something, yes?  I have little things to share--nothing special--but there were precious stories and pictures that struck me while I was Off.

And while I was off
I started walking this road every morning.  I try to race the sun to the top of the path.
We both win...
